Espirro

Espirro builds worlds that feel both strangely familiar and wonderfully off-center, drawing from the soft chaos of a pre-Internet childhood which reclaims its simplicity and exuberance through a grown-up sense of humour. The playful boldness of her aesthetics translates to something more personal, where loose lines, colours and figures drift off-centre to become entirely her own.

Experimentation replaces perfectionism as the abstract finds a place to breathe and speak its desire for simplicity without losing its complexity. Freedom lets the imagination lead the way, revelling in the pleasure of the process itself - a reminder that art doesn’t need to be polished to be profound.

With a degree in Fine Arts by the Faculdade de Belas Artes do Porto and an instinct for crossing mediums, Cíntia moves fluidly between tattooing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, tapestry and drawing, each one feeding the next in a continuous loop of experimentation.

Since 2018, she has been participating in group shows such as Splash and Cabinet of Curiosities at The Switch Gallery. In 2025, her practice entered a period of marked expansion with two solo exhibitions. The first reaffirmed her longstanding relationship with painting, highlighting the depth and continuity of her studio investigations. The second emerged from her initial encounter with ceramics—a medium that quickly grew into an ongoing engagement. This new material exploration opened a pathway into the sculptural and kinetic possibilities of water fountains, a direction that continues to shape and enrich her work.

Over the years, brands such as Emporio Armani, Huawei, Levi’s, +351, and FORA, sought her to bring her distinct visual universe into dialogue with different contexts and audiences while maintaining the playful and exploratory signature that defines her work.
